Texas Arrest Records Free List Online

Public records in the State of Texas are available from the Department of Public Safety's Computerized Criminal History System. The Conviction Database contains information including arrests in Texas, prosecutions and dispositions of cases where a person is charged with Class B or higher violation of the law. All cases that are filed in the database are updated frequently by the agencies under the State.

For a person to access the database, he or she must already have an account in the site. For those who are new, they can register a new account. Once the account is activated, the person who wants to make a research needs to purchase credits. These credits are used to pay for the search and retrieval of the searches done by the researcher. Each credit is equivalent to $3. Other statutory fees are charged to the researcher depending on the payment method that they make use of.

Those who would be using their credit cards to buy credits will have to pay a convenience fee of 2.25% plus $.50 for transaction cost. On the other hand, those who would be using checks will have to pay an additional $1.25 for convenience fee. Credits purchased by credit cards are readily available for use. Those who choose to mail their checks will have to wait for the checks to be approved before being able to use the credits.

It is imperative that researchers fill in the entire requested fields to ensure that the search would be successful. It is recommended to include the first name, middle name, surname and the person's birth date. Do keep in mind that credits are non-refundable and as such, a credit is debited from the account's credit even if the return result is a no-match. Having a no-result does not automatically mean that the record is not available. In some instances, the records might be restricted from public access such as in juvenile records or those records that are already sealed and expunged.

In some instances, the search might turn up with many results. To save up on one's credit, one can preview each of the files to look for the record that one actually wants. Do remember that once the record is opened completely, it will automatically deduct a credit from the account's balance. Some of the records might need further research done to ensure the authenticity of the report especially if there are no fingerprint records to go by. One may double check with the local agency or county that issued the report to ensure the accuracy of the details in the report.

For those individuals who have questions or complaints with their records, they can call the office to request for other information or add to the existing information sheet. In addition, those that might want to search for public records such as arrest search, death and birth records can also do so by checking online search records. Online public search record is the fastest and most convenient way for one to get the information they need without having to pay an exorbitant fee.
