For the individuals wishing to engage in fishing, there is also a requirement for one to have a fishing license. It is illegal for one to remove marine organisms from the islands waters. Every person is expected to have acquired a recreational fishing permit. Moreover, the activity is only done within two hundred miles exclusive economic zone, and the vessels must be certified.

People are not required to get involved in any activity that can risk the lives of turtles and their eggs in a specified period when not in season. The government has set aside the months from April to November is the specified period. Also, no one ought not to use guns or spears during fishing. A fine of fifteen thousand dollars can be imposed on them.

There is a BVI law which is in charge of protecting the coral reefs, sea sand, and shells. It has banned people from destroying, injuring, or breaking the coral reefs in any way. This can discourage their continuous development. In this case, people are not required to pull their fishing nets or engage in fishing along the shoreline.

In conclusion, there is a need for one to have permits for any marine vessel to be used on the waters of British Virgin Islands. People are expected to pay an annual fee for any commercial or non-commercial facility.
