Redesigning The Subconscious With Psych-K

By Ruthie Calderon

The process of Psychological Kinesiology is only one of a number of self-help oriented tools. Although, while most of these self-help programs focus on conscious behavior, psych-K focused on redesigning and retraining the subconscious. The approach is aimed at replacing negative beliefs, behaviors, thoughts and feelings with those which are more positive.

As subconscious beliefs are invisible, it can be hard at times to understand that thoughts in the subconscious may be holding an individual back from success. As such, it is believed these beliefs are often responsible for the self-sabotage resulting from these unknown and often negative thoughts. In most cases, these self-defeating thoughts have been generated throughout life, first in childhood, then later as an adult.

When an individual can recognize the source of these issues whether on a conscious or unconscious level, then and only then can these negative aspects be replaced with more positive ones. While tools like daily diaries, dream journals, meditation, visualization and the power of will work from a perspective of consciousness, this new program works to redesign the subconscious into one of well being.

In fact, the entire program focus on the negative actions related to the subconscious mind. It is believed that replacing these negative aspects will override those which are contributing to a number of emotional and physical issues. For, where physical distress is a side effect of these emotional issues, removing the issue from the subconscious has also been known to remove the pain.

Anxiety, depression, stress and illness are often keys that something is wrong somewhere in body, mind or spirit. Generally, these emotional type issues suggest it is a problem with the mind. As such, while there may be no logical explanation, it is believed that the subconscious may have the answers as to why an individual may be experiencing these and other difficulties in life.

After which, it is easier for the subconscious to accept changes in feelings, behaviors and attitudes. Something which the creator of the program states will allow the subconscious to recognize these negative beliefs which can then be replaced by more desirable ones. For, once the new beliefs, behaviors, thoughts and feelings are in place, the old becomes replaced with the new.

Obtaining permission from the individual that the change is in the best interest of the individual at the time is something not found in other programs. In fact, it is a process that is rather unique. There are also methods of cataloging which are used throughout the program to track changes and progression over time.

The process uses combined elements of different self-help tools to accomplish the task of redesigning the subconscious mind. Generally, a combination of hypnosis, psycho-spiritual healing techniques, positive reinforcement and others are used over time. These advanced self-help tools while often compact and streamline can be used to effect body movement, posture and breathing, all of which can also effect conscious and unconscious beliefs and behaviors.
