The range of standard age requirement is between 21 and 49 years, any year older or younger than the range deducts at least 2 points from the score chart for any applicant. One must have a minimum of one year in full-time work experience in several specified fields which satisfy standards by the Canadian immigration department. Such fields include managerial jobs, technical and skilled trades as well as professional occupations among others. At least 10 additional points are awarded to those who have job offers by Canadian employers.

In terms of education, applicants require a minimum of secondary level education.
